Taylor’s University School of Hospitality, Tourism & Culinary Arts (TCHT) and The Academy of Toulouse, France, to strengthen ties in the areas of hospitality, tourism and culinary arts

In conjunction with TCHT’s 30th Anniversary and to commemorate the long-standing relationship between TCHT and the Academy of Toulouse, France, an MOU was signed on May 27th, 2016 by Dato’ Loy Teik Ngan, Group Chief Executive Officer of Taylor’s Education Group and Madam Helene Bernard, Rector of The Academy of Toulouse, France, with Professor Dr Pradeep Nair, Taylor’s University Deputy Vice Chancellor and Mr. Jean Solito, Director of International Relations of The Academy of Toulouse, France, as witnesses.

Madam Helene Bernard, who was appointed as Rector in 2013 by the French Government, was at Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus to attend the Taylor’s University May 2016 convocation ceremony, in addition to her visits to the Ministry of Higher Education and the French Embassy as part of her mission in Malaysia. Her maiden visit to Taylor’s University is also to celebrate the 30 years of French co-operation with Taylor’s University.

The MOU will allow both institutions to strengthen their existing collaborations and to pave the way for more initiatives and exchange of knowledge, specifically in the field of hospitality, tourism and culinary arts.

The ceremony was also witnessed by Emeritus Professor Dato’ Dr. Visweswaran Navaratnam, Taylor’s University Pro-Vice Chancellor of Postgraduate, Research and R&D, Mr. Neethiahnanthan Ari Ragavan, Dean of School of Hospitality, Tourism & Culinary Arts, and Professor Dr Jean-Pierre Poulain, Chair of Food Studies: Food Cultures & Health at Taylor’s Toulouse University Centre.
