Taylor’s Electrical & Electronic Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Degree Programmes Get another Five Years Accreditation from The Board of Engineers Malaysia

Taylor’s University School of Engineering attained yet another commendable achievement in obtaining five years accreditation from The Board of Engineers Malaysia for its Electrical & Electronic Engineering and Mechanical Engineering programmes’ second cycle of accreditations, making it one of the few, and the youngest engineering schools/faculties in the country where all of its engineering programmes have received the maximum 5-years accreditations with interim.

Associate Professor Ir Dr. Satesh Narayana Namasivayam, Head of Taylor’s School of Engineering, said, “In order to ensure that the quality of engineering programmes attains the minimum standard comparable to global practice, accreditation is required. Taylor’s School of Engineering’s commitment to this is evidenced by attaining accreditation results for all our engineering programmes. The strengths highlighted by the panel this time around included our project-based pedagogy and the strong industry-linked projects.”

Since its establishment in 1996, Taylor’s School of Engineering has set the benchmark for engineering education and served as a role model for other institutions within the region. It is the first engineering school in Southeast Asia to adopt the CDIOTM initiative, enabling Taylor’s to apply this approach to create engineers who are able to meet the real-world demand of their profession and become innovators in providing solutions for the betterment of humankind. It is also the first university out of North America to be recognised by the National Academy of Engineering, USA, with the Grand Challenge Scholars Program.

Taylor’s School of Engineering currently offers four-year degree programmes in three disciplines, namely Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Chemical Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Electrical & Electronic Engineering, and Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Mechanical Engineering.
