Professor Nora Ann Colton, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at the recently visited the Taylor's Lakeside campus. Her visit gave an opportunity for both TU and UEL to learn from each other about the engineering focused teaching and learning practices and innovations taking place at both institutions. Dr Veena Doshi, the Associate Dean International (ADI) commented that, "we were pleased to be able to talk about the processes used within the Taylor's School of Engineering (SOE)".

Prof Colton, who is originally from the USA, also commented on the many opportunities that are made available to TU students to gain some sort of an international experience as part of their studies - whether it's a summer school, a semester exchange, an internship or an articulation link. In particular she noted that the TU summer programmes were very focused and applied, and that she hoped some of these programmes would be attractive to the UEL engineering students. Prof Colton was accompanied by colleagues from the International office of UEL, Ms. Caroline Ward and Mr. Kelvin Jones.

After meeting with Professor Perry Hobson, the PVC for Global Engagement, their visit ended with a tour of the engineering labs which gave them an opportunity to view SOE students innovative design projects. To find out more about the Taylor's School of Engineering click here.
